Wart Removal

Stubborn warts can be both unsightly and uncomfortable, affecting your confidence and daily activities. These viral growths, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), can appear on hands, feet, face, and other areas of the body. Modern laser technology offers a precise and minimally invasive solution to eliminate warts safely and effectively. By directing controlled light energy to the targeted area, the laser destroys the blood vessels feeding the wart and eliminates the viral tissue while preserving the surrounding healthy skin.

Whether dealing with common warts, plantar warts, or flat warts, laser treatment provides a reliable option to restore smooth, clear skin with minimal downtime.

How does Wart Removal work?

The laser destroys the tiny blood vessels that feed the wart, cutting off its blood supply so the wart tissue gradually dies and falls away. Additionally, the heat from the laser helps eliminate the HPV virus within the wart, reducing the likelihood of recurrence. The treated area forms a small scab that naturally falls off within 1-2 weeks, revealing healthy skin underneath.

Types of Warts Treated:

  • Common Warts – Rough, raised growths typically on hands and fingers
  • Plantar Warts – FFlat warts on the soles of feet that can be painful when walking
  • Flat Warts – Small, smooth warts often appearing in clusters on face or legs
  • Filiform Warts – Thread-like warts commonly found around the mouth, nose, or beard area

Which warts are suitable for laser removal?

Laser is effective for most types of warts, including common, plantar, flat, and filiform warts. It’s particularly beneficial for warts that haven’t responded to other treatments or are in sensitive areas. Very large or deep warts may require multiple sessions.

How many sessions are required?

Most warts require 2–4 sessions, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. Stubborn or recurring warts, especially plantar warts, may need additional treatments. The number depends on wart size, type, location, and individual healing response.

Do warts come back after removal?

While warts may recur in some cases since HPV can remain dormant in surrounding skin, laser treatment has a lower recurrence rate compared to freezing or acid treatments. The laser’s ability to target viral tissue more precisely reduces the likelihood of regrowth.

Is the treatment painful?

Most patients experience mild discomfort during treatment, often described as a rubber band snapping against the skin. Topical anesthetic can be applied for sensitive areas. Plantar warts may be more uncomfortable due to their location.

What should I expect after treatment?

The treated area may appear white or slightly charred immediately after treatment. A small blister or scab typically forms within 24-48 hours and falls off naturally in 1-2 weeks. Keep the area clean and dry during healing.
