Benefits of PRP therapy
PRP offers a wide range of benefits:

Natural Process
PRP harnesses the healing powers of the patient’s own platelet rich plasma to stimulate natural healing and regeneration. This minimizes the risk of allergic reactions or adverse effects associated with synthetic substances.

Minimal Downtime
Most individuals are able to resume their regular activities immediately following the treatment, with little to no disruption to their daily routine.

Minimal Discomfort
While individual experiences may vary, PRP therapy is generally well-tolerated and considered to be a relatively comfortable treatment. Furthermore, the use of topical numb cream minimizes any potential discomfort.
How does PRP work?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) works by utilizing the healing properties of platelets and growth factors found in the patient’s own blood. PRP can either be conducted as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with other treatments like microneedling.
For skin concerns, PRP is applied topically or injected into the targeted areas, stimulating collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, diminishing acne scars and rejuvenating the skin.
For hair concerns, PRP is injected into the scalp, stimulating hair follicles, promoting hair growth, and improving hair thickness and density. The growth factors in PRP help nourish the follicles, prolong the growth phase of the hair cycle, and reduce hair loss.
What happens during the procedure?
A topical numbing agent is applied on the treatment area to minimize patient discomfort. Blood is taken from the patient’s body (similar to a blood test); the amount of blood drawn will depend on where the PRP will be injected. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge machine to separate the blood cells and platelets. The platelets concentrate at the top of the blood sample is extracted using a syringe after which it is injected into the treatment area. The entire process takes around 1 hour, and it may take several sessions of the treatment for ideal results.

Which indications can be effectively treated by PRP therapy?
PRP harnesses the body’s natural healing abilities to enhance the appearance and health of both skin and hair. PRP can effectively treat:
- Acne scars
- Enlarged pores
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Dull skin
- Hyperpigmentation – dark circles, melasma
- Stretch marks
- Skin texture irregularities
- Hair loss

When will the results be visible?
The timeline for visible results varies from patient to patient depending on the specific concern being addressed. In general, results are visible after completion of 3 sessions. The results continue to build up overtime as the body’s healing and regenerative processes take effect.

How long do the effects of PRP therapy last?
The duration of PRP results can vary depending on several factors, including the specific concern being treated, individual response to treatment, and the maintenance routine followed i.e., sunblock application etc. Generally, PRP results can last anywhere from several months to over a year. To maintain and optimize the results, follow-up treatments are often recommended at 6 months intervals.

What are the possible side effects of PRP therapy?
Following are some possible side effects of PRP therapy:
- Redness
- Sensitivity
- Possible bruises (lasting only 1 – 3 days)
- Slight stinging
