What is semi-permanent makeup?

Semi-permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the application of pigments to enhance or mimic the appearance of makeup. Unlike traditional makeup, which is applied and removed daily, semi-permanent makeup is designed to last for an extended period.
Applications of semi-permanent makeup at Dr. Amna’s clinics include enhancing eyebrows, defining eyeliner, adding lip color, and covering scars or irregularities. The procedure involves the use of a specialized tattooing device that deposits pigments into the upper layers of the skin, creating a long-lasting and natural-looking enhancement. It is popular among individuals looking to save time on their daily makeup routine or those seeking solutions for cosmetic or medical reasons.

What happens during the semi-permanent makeup procedure?

Prior to the procedure, a consultation is done in which the patient is assessed, and the preferred procedures are chosen. During the procedure, numbing measures are taken and colors are chosen. Microneedles will be used to inject the pigment into the superficial layer of the skin and depending on the type of procedure done (lips, eyelashes, eyebrows etc.), different pigments will be used.

How many sessions are required?

One to two sessions are usually required for the procedure to be completed.
